• How does IASIS MCN work? 

  Good question. MCN isn’t a medical treatment but rather a safe and effective neurofeedback technology that uses low energy impulses (micro currents) to help our brains “reboot” by creating new brain wave patterns. Many factors such as stress, environment, trauma, injury or sickness can cause our brains to become unbalanced and frozen in unhealthy brain wave patterns resulting in brain related disorders such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. These micro currents of energy are the real MVP when it comes to correcting and restoring our brain function!

• Who can benefit from MCN?

  Anyone! Children and adults alike.

• What does MCN treat?

  The better question is, what doesn’t it treat? IASIS MCN has been shown to reduce or eliminate symptoms of many disorders including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, addiction, ADD/ADHD, autism, OCD, PTSD, traumatic brain injury, concussion, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, chronic pain, insomnia and migraines. It can also be used for peak performance.

• Is it safe?

  Absolutely. IASIS MCN is an FDA registered EEG amplifier and is extremely safe. The amount of electrical current used during treatment is 1/100th of a AA battery over 1/100th of a second which is generally unnoticeable to the person being treated. 

• How many treatments do you need?

  10-20 sessions is ideal to reach enduring sustainability of improved symptoms. Every individual will respond differently and have different results. Most clients begin to see improvement in symptoms within the first 3-5 sessions.

• Are there side effects? 

  Occasionally but minimal. You might experience a mild headache, nausea, lightheadedness, being tired, or the feeling of being “revved up” only lasting a few hours after the treatment. This does not indicate that the treatment is not working, but rather the opposite- that your brain is attempting to reorganize itself. These symptoms are temporary.

• Where will the appointment be?

  The appointment will be in an office at my home, providing for a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere.

• What makes MCN different?

  IASIS MCN is a passive treatment. Unlike traditional bio/neurofeedback and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) that require client participation, you simply relax while the MCN device does the work.

• What will be needed from you?

  Show up! You don’t have to get anything “right” for treatment to work, but you will be asked to monitor for effects after treatments and to send an update the day after your appointment. Change doesn’t happen immediately, so noticing small differences will go far in helping you see the change that is occurring.

• What does the name Walking on Waves mean?

  The neurofeedback technology works through strengthening brain waves . “Waves” made me think of the story in the Bible of Peter walking on the water from Matthew 14:25-29.

  “Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.”

  My own experience with changes in my life had to do with God working through different modalities/technologies to bring about life change that has enabled me to live in freedom, compassion, grace, and more: a feeling of not being stuck in unrelenting mental storms. Sometimes, fear and other “stuck” neuropathways, holds us back from experiencing life fully. MCN is a way to help stop the storms that have held us back (because of stuck brainwaves!) and give the courage to step out of the boat. Maybe you’ll find yourself walking on the waves, maybe you’ll find the boat was on land the whole time and you just needed to step off. You definitely do not have to be a follower of Jesus to experience the benefits this technology can provide, and you will be loved and treated the same way regardless of any beliefs. But I do want to be upfront that my following of Jesus is what has led me to want to help others in this way and believe that Jesus is the one who is the ultimate Healer.
